Amanda got into drugs in 2013 when her baby, kept in the hospital for a year due to heart defects, was taken from her custody. She couldn’t, she says, get to the hospital every day due to lack of a car and lack of money, and the decision was made that she was neglectful. She thought drugs would take the pain away, “but it didn’t it just made it worse.”
She turns tricks to make ends meet.
Amanda says to the world, “You think drugs will make things better, but they just make them worse. And worse.”
Amanda has no plans for a different life. She would vaguely like to go back to school someday but has no idea how that might happen.
